Secretary / Founding Member
Kathy Sanford Thomas
Kathy Sanford Thomas serves as Secretary and Board Member of Honoring 307 Heroes and proudly co-coordinates the Wreaths Across America project for Natrona County. Her journey with Wreaths Across America began in Virginia, where she helped students from Herndon High School and families at Arlington National Cemetery honor fallen veterans.
Since returning home to Casper, Kathy has helped lead local efforts to ensure every veteran’s grave is honored with a wreath. Through the dedication of countless volunteers and community support, the number of wreaths placed has grown from just 187 in 2016 to more than 4,500 across multiple cemeteries in Natrona County in 2025.
A lifelong educator and proud daughter of a WWII Navy Seabee, Kathy believes honoring veterans is one of life’s greatest privileges. She continues her service through her involvement in community organizations including Alpha Delta Kappa, PEO Chapter L, and the Casper Country Club Ladies Golf Association.
“They say a person dies twice—once when they pass away, and again when their name is spoken for the last time. When we lay each wreath, we say their name and keep their memory alive.”
